The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Ministry of Education (MoE), located in Addis Ababa, is a government agency in charge of governing and overseeing the education at all levels in the country. It also administers many national exams in the country. This blog answers the question that is frequently asked by many people “what are exams administered by ministry of education in Ethiopia?”.
There are many examinations that ministry of education has prominently administered in Ethiopia. The ministry undertakes all activities related to exam preparation, invigilation, marking, recording and announcing the results to the students. Moreover, the ministry covers all costs associated with those examinations. There are guidelines prepared by the ministry how those examinations are going to be conducted and executed.
Infact, the collaboration regional education bureaus, higher education institutions, schools, and other stakeholders are highly required to effectively and efficiently implement those programs. How to check these Exam Results Online?
The ministry of education has an online platform to check those results. If you want to check it, open your browser and type result.ethernet.edu.et and you can find the list and type of exams available there. Then select your choice and enter the required information. Now you can see your results.
1. Exit Exam
Exit exam, officially started in July 2023, has been provided for all undergraduate program students in all private and public universities and colleges in Ethiopia before graduation has approved. Ministry of education uses it as a tool to assure the quality of education in Ethiopia.
2. TVET COC/Exit Exam
Certificate of Competency (COC) is a means of assessing the competency of Technic and vocational education and training graduates from level 1 to level 5. Employers have usually used as recruiting tool to differentiate candidates and presenting the certificate is mandatory.
3. Ethiopian University Entrance Exam (EUEE)
EUEE is the type of exam that has been provided to all Grade 12th students in Ethiopia to join colleges and universities in the country. Bothe social and natural science stream students are required to take the exam to enter the higher education institutions in the country.
Social Science Stream students will take subjects like: English, Mathematics, Aptitude, History, Geography, Civics. On the other hand, Social Science Stream students will take subjects like: English, Mathematics, Aptitude, Chemistry, Physics and Biology. Moreover, the exam covers the contents for the above-mentioned subjects from Grade 9 to Grade 12.
4. Teacher Development Program (TDP) Exam
Teacher Development Program (TDP) exam is provided for secondary school teachers and leaders after capacity training is provided in summer seasons annually. To see the TDP result go to the https://result.ethernet.edu.et and select ‘TDP‘ from the options and you can check your result by entering registration number or username. Then there are two results: if you get 70 and above out of 100 you will be qualified and if not, it will be not qualified. Fo individuals who have scored 70 and above, certificate will be given in soft copy.
5. National Graduate Admission Test (NGAT)
TheĀ Graduate Admission TestĀ (GAT) is an examination given for students who would like to join postgraduate graduate programs, master’s and PhD, in higher education institutions in Ethiopia. The exam contains aptitude, quantitative and analytical reasoning questions. To pass the exam and join the postgraduate programs, students have to score 50 and above.
5. Remedial Exam
Since 2022, Some students who have scored less than 50% in the 12th Grade National Exam have been selected and assigned to higher education institutions to attend remedial education by Ministry of Education. Remedial Exam has given for those students and if they got 50%, they would join the public universities in the country. The remedial exam was 70% from the center (MoE) and 30% from the higher education institutions before September 2024 but for the time ahead 100% will be from the center (MoE).
